Quick Glance

What's great?

  • Shankar's grand ideas

  • Vikram's dedication that is simply unbeatable

  • Great cinematography by PC Sreeram and music by AR Rahman

  • Santhanam's comedy

  • Make-up, graphics and set pieces

What's not?
  • Too long that requires some trimming

  • A story line that is predictable

You don't have to know the story to watch the movie. So, let's just skip it and focus on the lead performance.

The Cast

Without a doubt, Vikram easily steals the show with different characters and looks. His dedication with the make-up and stunts besides losing weight is simply too good to be criticized. Amy Jackson is equally strong in her performance and has beautiful looks to add to it.

The Team

While PC Sreeram has rendered beautiful effects to almost every scene with his camera, AR Rahman adds pep with his background score that elevates your experience to new heights. The movie by Shankar is a visual treat with excellently choreographed stunts and song sequences. It's only the editor who should have trimmed more of it to cut down on the three hour run time.

Combined with great acting, some eye catchy locales, memorable songs and good jokes, 'I' is a family entertainer for people of all age groups irrespective of the type of movies they love usually. The movie scores in most areas and is another win for director Shankar.

Bottom line – 'I' is the best movie in Tamil cinema in terms of technicality and presentation. It's worth your time in the cinemas!
