OK Kanmani Movie Review – Refreshing romantic drama
OK Kanmani is a comeback vehicle for Mani Ratnam because his earlier films Raavanan and Kadal didn't receive the expected response. Being back to romance after a long time, he proves himself once again with crisp dialogs and very lovable characters.

- . Memorable performance by Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon
- . AR Rahman simply mesmerizes everyone with his tunes
- . Crisp dialogs that will make you smile
- . Cinematography by PC Sreeram
- . A slow first half dedicated to building the characters
- . Sometimes, the lead characters feel more childish than being of younger generation.
The storyline is wafer thin and age old where a boy meets a girl, falls in love but they don't wish to marry. Instead they simply love each other and share a lot of beautiful moments together that leads to a climax you would love. The Cast
Dulquer Salman has little scope in his first Tamil movie 'Vaayai Moodi Pesavum' due to the script but he's picture perfect as the lover boy, on the lines of Karthik and Madhavan. Nithya Menon steals the show with her able performance while the older generation couple Prakash Raj, Leela Samson has their own area to perform. It is satisfactory on the whole except for a few unknown faces who seem out of the context. The Team
Once again, we can't praise OK Kanmani without talking about AR Rahman because his music fills the visuals that Mani Ratnam and PC Sreeram has conceived together. The pleasant music combined with cool visuals will make this movie fresh for years to come. Technically, it is brilliant without a doubt. Dialogs are a big plus for the movie.
If Gautam Menon is impressed with this movie, you can easily assume how romantic it would be!
Bottom line – A timeless romantic movie with memorable characters in the lines of 'Alaipayuthe' and 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya'.
Certified Fresh – Yes!
