Being a remake of Bangalore Days, we have to really clarify that this is not going to beat the original by any means. When movies like Drishyam and Papanasam has so many differences despite an amazing cast, it is obvious that this one has its share of good and bad too.
Quick Glance
What's great?
- ► Multiple star cast is a highlight for the movie
- ► The feel good mood has been maintained despite being made frame by frame
- ► Arya is ok while Sri Divya doesn't disappoint too much in Nazriya's place
- ► Music and presentationc
What's not?
- ► Cut, copy paste formula will surely annoy original Bangalore Days lovers
- ► Chemistry between the main three is missing
In terms of story, Bangalore Naatkal has very little to offer. It's a life journey about three cousins Arya, Simha and Sri Divya who is married to Rana. Rana has a past with Samantha while Arya and Simha has different goals in life. They try to find their dream girl in Bangalore. Do they?
The CastFirst things first! People who have watched the Malayalam original will definitely find faults and it is natural. But, for a first timer who watches Bangalore Naatkal , it is enjoyable in most parts. Arya does his job, Sri Divya is cute in some places while Simha despite his annoying moustache. Rana is nowhere near acting but he emotes to the scenes as required.
The TeamDirector Baskar definitely deserves an applause for recreating the entire movie with a new cast. He didn't risk too much. Even some songs from the Malayalam version has been remade for Banglaore Natkal.
If you are watching it for the first time, it will bring a smile to your face. For others, you can keep expectations aside and still enjoy this one to a good extent.
Bottom line - an interesting tale about friendship and love that's a good addition to Kollywood.
