India Pakistan Movie Review
– A Complete Comedy Entertainer with a Bunch of Clichés

India Pakistan Review and Rating

India Pakistan introduces Vijay Antony in a completely new avatar and it's a complete comedy entertainer with a bit of serious elements thrown in. If you love movies like 'Naan' and 'Salim', this is definitely not for you because it is purely targeted at being a mindless humor saga.

Quick Glance

What's great?

  • . An all-out cast with a lot of good actors

  • . Comedy one liners by Jegan and Kali Venkat

  • . Vijay Antony's underplayed performance

  • . Decent songs

What's not?
  • . Clichéd portrayal of police and villagers

  • . Very thin storyline with predictable comedy dialogs

Vijay Antony is Karthik who competes against Sushma Raj (Millena) to find a good case as both of them are lawyers. They find a land issue dealing with Pasupathi and MS Bhaskar. Meanwhile, another issue about a fake encounter recorded on a DVD runs parallel which converges into a predictable climax fight.

The Cast

Vijay Antony was simply superb in movies like 'Salim' but he has tried hard to break the grim, serious looks in 'India Pakistan'. He is ok in some scenes but in others he resembles actors like Siva Karthikeyan and Mirchi Siva. Sushma Raj is the typical Tamil heroine while Jagan gives the much needed humor to the movie. Supporting cast Pasupathi, MS Bhaskar, Manobala among others have done a good job in making the audience laugh.

The Team

Director Anand can't be blamed for going with the usual commercial formula with a lot of comedy, and a wafer thin storyline. But, the comedy isn't too good but it isn't too bad either as one who would love to simply laugh without thinking about logic would definitely enjoy the movie.

Portraying the police and villagers as really dumb/naive could be given a break in Kollywood. Music is good and it's all about laughing your heart out.

Bottom line – If you love a movie with lots of predictable comedy one liners and not much of a serious story, this is your best pick this weekend.
