Interim ban on Vijay Antony's Kaali
The latest we hear is that Vijay Antony has been slapped with a settlement bill of Rs. 4.73 crore to be paid by April 11, 2018 and an interim ban on the release of his upcoming film Kaali by the Madras High Court. He had been promoting and giving interviews to radio stations for the same and it has com to our attention that this was done after Alexander, who distributed Vijay Antony's Annadurai under Picture Box Company filed legal suit for the losses incurred from the film.
It has been reported that Alexander initially had an arrangement with Vijay Antony and his wife Fathima by agreeing to buy Kaali for a lesser rate as compensation for the loss incurred. But due to the ongoing issues in the film industry and the TFPC Strike, they weren't about to implement the arrangement and hence the distributor had to seek the help of the court to enable alternate mode of payment.
