Finally the much awaited Kaala songs have been released. The anticipation for the songs have been high ever since the single that was released on May 1st.
So here is our review on the songs that released today.
The First in line is Semma Weightu, this song is the song that released as the single on May 1st. A fusion of hip hop, rap and folk tune, this one has been sung by Hariharasudhan and Santhosh Narayanan, with rap by Dopeadelicz - Dope Daddy, Stony Psyko, MC Mawali. The song opens with pronounced use of trumpet and the highlight of this track is the beat-boxing.
The next on the line is the folksy romantic number Thanga Sela rendered by Shankar Mahadevan, Anandhu and Pradeep Kumar. This song especially take us to the olden days and it is not quite an easy pick for the fans.
Next comes Katravai Patravai, a rap number by Santhosh with heavy electric instruments. Yogi B, Arunraja and Roshan Jamrock have rendered their voice for this song and yes, this has Superstar's dialogues from the film, Kya re, setting a? and Dhillirundha mothama vaanga le.
Next is a melody Kannamma, sung by Pradeep Kumar, Ananthu and Dhee. This melody has used in minimal instruments in the background and the flute gives a soothing effect.
Kannamma Acapella by Ananthu takes it to the next level and it definitely adds extra weight-age.
Urimayai Meetpom is another pick, this songs starts slowly but takes it to a gaana number quickly. Sung by Vijay Prakash and Ananthu, this folksy song talks about fight for freedom and rights.
Poraaduvom is lot more about the state affairs in the current day in Tamil Nadu and it is rendered by Dopeadilicz. The highlight is its powerful lyrics and it calls out for revolution.
There comes yet another song with strong lyrics, Theruvilakku and this has hip-hop beats and talks about people who work for the society and its betterment and the song is rendered by Dopeadilicz and Muthamil.
The last song in this album is Nikkal Nikkal, sung by Dopeadelicz, Vivek and Arunraja. It is a lighthearted song with folksy beats.
