Katham Katham Movie Review
– A predictable, cliché movie saved by Nutty to some extent

Katham Katham Tamil Movie Review and Rating

Right from the start, director Babu Thooyavan has made 'Katham Katham' with the sole motto to make money for his producers and not great awards. But, if he had managed to add some interesting characters like the one played by Nataraj alias Nutty, it would have been a much better movie.

Quick Glance

What's great?

  • • Nataraj after 'Sathuranga Vettai' is at his best again

  • • Nandha's decent performance

  • • Some memorable dialogs

  • • A promising plot about a good cop and bad cop

What's not?
  • • Bad songs at all the wrong places

  • • An easily predictable plot and familiar characters including the loud politician villain

After being transferred for 15 times, an honest cop Nandha ends up under Nataraj, a cop who's corrupt to the core that he has a menu list with price for each crime. It's all about Nandha's fight against Nataraj's lack of responsibility as a policeman and the end reveals whether he manages him to convince otherwise or not.

The Cast

In 'Katham Katham', the entire movie's funny and interesting parts are shouldered by Nataraj alias Nutty. His one liners are good in some parts like 'who will pay us if we arrest all the thugs'? Nandha acting skills are good but his characterization is clichéd with words like, becoming a cop is a penance! The heroines Sanam Shetty and Sarika are there only for glossy glamour parts mostly.

The Team

Director Babu Thooyavan has potential in penning a promising script about two cops going against each other but he adds too much commercial elements with familiar villains and items songs that make the audience restless. Cinematography is above average but the music and BGM is hardly anything you might notice while watching it.

Bottom line – Every commercial elements, the villain and the honest cop failed but surprisingly the bad cop makes the movie somewhat watchable!
