Naanum Rowdy Dhaan Movie Review - Jolly Rowdy Defies Logic
Right from the start, director Vignesh Sivan establishes Naanum Rowdy Dhaan as a comical movie where gangsters turn hilarious at a flick of the moment and there are hardly any strong plot lines that you would expect from a story based movie.

This one is all about fun, one liners and comedy that rules it! Vijay Sethupathy and Nayanthara as the lead pair is a huge plus for this film who ensure that it feels grand besides being romantically entertaining at all points.
- • Vijay Sethupathy's performance and popular one-liners
- • Nayanthara with her cute looks and acting will win over hearts
- • Thangamey song and its visualization is enjoyable
- • Ra. Parthiban as the villain is just amazing along with Mansoor Ali Khan
- • Brilliant cinematography
- • Anirudh's background music is too loud and other songs are easily forgettable
- • There is hardly any logic in portraying a real gangster and his ways
- • Frustratingly long run time at nearly two hours thirty minutes
Vijay Sethupathy wants to become a gangster even though his mother Radhika is a police officer. He does small time jobs when he meets a deaf girl Nayanthara who seeks help to bring down a gangster, Parthiban to avenge her father. Can he make the impossible happen and turn into a real rowdy? The Cast
Vijay Sethupathy is simply awesome is every frame and when combined with RJ Balaji's comical one liners, they bring down the roof with laughter. Nayanthara is equally good with cute expressions and costumes but her not buying a hearing equipment all her life sounds highly illogical. Ra. Parthiban as the comical villain makes Naanum Rowdy Dhaan highly enjoyable throughout the second half and Mansoor Ali Khan tickles your funny bone now and then. Equally good is Mottai Rajendran! The Team
Director Vignesh Sivan under Dhanush's Wunderbar banner has ventured to create a complete comedy movie about a rowdy and he has succeeded in it with plenty of comedy in almost every scene. Visually, the film is top notch in terms of lighting and presentation while music by Anirudh is mediocre except for few instances.
While Dhanush and Anirudh strongly believe they are a brand who may not fail at the box office, it may not last long if Wunderbar doesn't opt for genuine scripts like 'VIP'. For now, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan is a fun ride to the cinemas if you like to laugh your heart out!
Bottom line – A string of comedies will keep you engaged throughout the extended run time.
