Quick Glance

What's great?

  • ► Vijay Sethupathi steals the show in comedy, action and everything else

  • ► Remya Nambeesan as an apt pair

  • ► Familiar but enjoyable local villain

  • ► Naan Raja song by Anirudh captivates attention

What's not?

  • ► The movie's run time is a major disappointment as it slows down the pace

  • ► Background music is too loud and should have been better

  • ► Too many scenes dedicated to family sentiment is another minus

Sethupathi is an honest cop who faces multiple cases on a daily basis but gets stuck when he's cornered by a local named Vathiyar.

The Cast

Vijay Sethupathi is picture perfect as the commercial cop that we have come to love in movies like Saamy and Singham. Remya Nambeesan shines in the romantic role as a wife while the villain is a nice pick. The guy who played Sethupathi's assistant as a cop tickles the funny bone. While cast is less, they keep the action and the comedy going on all the time.

The Team

Director Arun Kumar has tailor made a character for Vijay Sethupathi which wins big time and it is an easy pick for all classes of audiences to enjoy. Except for the one song by Anirudh, Nivas K Prasanna's music is a letdown and too loud. Editing and camera work is clean.

Trying to implement the personal life of a cop is good but it has been overdone. The film has its share of slowing down moments multiple times but the action and the arrogant cop character makes up for it in the end.

Bottom line - Get ready for a fun ride with little logic and some twists, you are sure to enjoy this one!
