Being the dedicated director he is, Vettrimaran ensured that there is no low in this movie despite its low budget and a police lock up setting which will surely send the weak hearted audience away. The director has done justice to the story in every aspect making it a path breaking film in Tamil cinema.
- ► Realism to an extreme core
- ► Depiction of how corrupt officers could do anything in their power.
- ► Brilliant dedicated play by Dinesh, Samuthirakani and supporting cast
- ► Camera work, sound engineering and background music
- ► Highly gritty and may not be enjoyable for those who seek entertainment
The plot is very little about four youngsters who get nabbed by the policemen from the roadside and beaten to near death to accept a crime they didn't commit. But, when they are saved by Samuthirakani and brought back to Chennai, things get uglier leading to the climax. The Cast
The entire cast in the movie including Dinesh, Samuthirakani and even those we don't know much as actors have done at a top notch level. The film looks totally believable especially the beatings they take which shows the cruelty of department and the justice system. It's more of a visual experience where everyone portrays their respective careers. The Team
Director Vettrimaran should be lauded for taking such a serious script which could seek enough trouble from many people. He has not made any compromise which is evident from the international awards the film won. Similarly, cinematography, music and editing has worked in co-ordination to deliver the experience as intended. This movie happens to Kishore's last edited film and will stand long in our memories.
Bottom line - It's a must watch in theaters if you can withstand gore and brutality.
