The dialogs are crisp! The scenes are brilliantly shot! Yennai Arinthal is filled with a lot of nail biting action moments but director Gautham Vasudev Menon gives equal importance to romance and family sentiments which makes it a solid entertainment for the whole family.

Quick Glance

What's great?

  • • Ajith Kumar looks brilliant and captivating on-screen as a cop.

  • • Arun Vijay's surprisingly good role and execution.

  • • Trisha looks prettier than ever and the supporting cast has done a great job.

  • • Gautham Vasudev Menon's screenplay, presentation and voice over.

  • • Great camera work.

What's not?
  • • Songs have been stuffed into the storyline to make the fans happy

  • • A 3-hour run time might create a bit of dullness.

  • • Reminds us of Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu in some scenes

Due to his professional demands, Sathya Dev (Ajith) is forced to betray Victor (Arun Vijay) who comes back at him with a vengeance. The story is all about a young boy who grows into an honest cop and the price he has to pay to protect his family throughout his life.

The Cast

Ajith rules the movie all the way with some smashing stunt sequences and electrifying scenes where he threatens the gangsters. Given him an equal competition is Arun Vijay even though he has been given scope only towards the very end. He's not a menacing villain but he shows great potential to be a promising character artist.

The Team

Gautham Menon is always known for his mesmerizing romantic interludes. But, he plays safe this time with some good parts with Trisha and none with Anushka. Comical moments with Vivek and other characters is a welcome relief. Cinematography is really well done, especially with the night scenes. Harris Jayaraj did well with 'Adhaaru Udhaaru' but we hope he will deliver more in upcoming movies.

Bottom line – With right mix of action and sentiment combined with Ajith's presence, Yennai Arinthal is a great watch!

Certified Fresh – Yes!
