Ponniyin Selvan is the upcoming much anticipated historical Tamil movie in the industry which is framed based on the epic Tamil novel titled Kalki. This biggie is directed by ace director Mani Ratnam and is touted to be his dream project. The movie is shot in two parts and marks the trademark of one of the costliest movies ever in Indian Cinema. The flick has created a huge expectation among the audience as the cast list consists of a bunch of favourite stars for the audience.
The movie features an ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram among others in pivotal roles. The movie will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The technical crew includes Varman as the cinematographer and Sreekhar Prasad as editor, Ilango Krishnan, Kabilan and Venba Geethayan as lyricist, and Jeyamohan wrote the dialogues.

Now the production company has officially revealed the date regarding the release of the first single from the movie. The first single will be out on July 31, at 6PM. The first single has been titled Ponni Nadhi. This song will be focused on Vanthiya Thevan, played by Karthi. This song’s lyrics are penned by Ilango Krishnan and the details regarding the singers are unknown. The music for the movie was scored by Oscar award winner AR Rahman. This announcement was made with a new poster which shows Karthi riding a horse. He looks so classy and royal. So, this weekend is going to be a big treat and the best one for Ponniyin Selvan fans.
