Jungkook, the K-pop boy band sensation, has been conquering the charts with his debut solo track ‘Seven,’ which features American rapper Latto. It has now achieved No. 1 on Spotify’s Top Global Songs Chart for four consecutive weeks, making him the first Korean artist to do so.

The information was provided by the group’s label, the South Korean company Big Hit Entertainment, which also created the single, on Weverse.

By August 12, the song got over 35 million Spotify streams, surpassing the likes of Selena Gomez and Demi Levato. Since the song’s release in July, ‘Seven’ has enjoyed an uninterrupted reign at the top of Spotify’s global chart, and this week, Jungkook set two impressive new records on the platform, which was an unprecedented step, making him the first Korean artist to stay at the top of the Spotify charts for more than 28 days.

Furthermore, the instrumental version of ‘Seven’ ranked in 65th place and has since occupied the Top 30 spot, while Jungkook’s two other songs, ‘Still With You’ and ‘My You,’ ranked in 54th and 113th place, respectively, on Spotify rankings.

As of now, the song is the second most popular pop hit in the world, with only Taylor Swift ahead of it. ‘Seven’ has also gained widespread recognition, raising the standard for not only K-pop, but any artist, to reach such heights and dominate charts in their debut single.
