The Cast
The entire cast of this film has given their best. Vijay Sethupathi is the pillar of this movie that is set on the rural background. Though the story looks templated, it’s Vijay Sethupathi’s performance that makes us sit throughout the movie. Vijay Sethupathi proved his mantle as the best actor with his effortless performance. His body language and looks makes us glued to the screen.
Tanya looks beautiful and gets a meaty role to perform and yes without any doubt she has justified her role through her expressions but one would feel that the she could have dubbed it herself.
The scenes between Vijay Sethupathi and Tanya has worked out really well and the chemistry between them is a delight to watch.
Bobby Simha’s performs well but his role could have been more stronger.
Singam Puli’s comedy evokes laughter and it has worked out well.
The other cast in the film including Pasupathi, Kishore, Kaveri, Renuga gives their best support with their performance.
The Team
This film is technically brilliant. Cinematography by Shakthivel needs a special mention as he has captured the whole set of the rural background well. The Jallikattu scenes needs a special mention as it has captured very colourfully and stays in our eyes even after coming out of the theatres.
Songs by D. Imman dint click well and the song placement were also a minus in this film as it slows down the film. Could have taken more care on it, but the background score was good and it enhanced the scenes.
VT Vijayan’s editing is neat and crisp. Screenplay looks templated, the director could have offered much better film than opting for the age old revenge drama.
Bottom line – One time watchable. Go for it to witness Vijay Sethupathi’s charismatic performance.
