KV Anand is a cinematographer and an ace director in the Kollywood industry. He initially started his career as a photojournalist and worked as a still photographer in a popular media house in Tamil Nadu. Then, he worked as an assistant to the legendary cinematographer PC Sreeram after which he turned out to work as a cinematographer. The Malayalam movie, Thenmavin Kombath which was directed by Priyadarshan is the first film of KV Anand as a Cinematographer, for which he received the National Award for best cinematography.

 

Only very few cinematographers win national awards for cinematography and KV Anand is one among them. In Kollywood KV Anand’s first movie as a cinematographer is Kaadhal Desam. He worked as a cinematographer in many other movies which notably includes Boys, Chellame, Mudhalvan, Nerukku Ner, Virumbugiren, and Sivaji the: boss.

Then, KV Anand made his first directorial debut in the year 2005 in the movie kana kandaen that starred Srikanth, Prithviraj. Later, he directed Ayan, the movie which is a massive hit and one of the remarkable movies of actor Surya which is a blockbuster hit at the box office. KV Anand also directed movies like Ko with Jiva, Anegan with Dhanush, Maatran with Surya, and Kavan with Vijay Sethupathi.

 

Today an unexpected moment arrived which pushed the whole kollywood town into a deep sorrow. KV Anand died at 3 AM on Friday. The director is 54 years old and died due to cardiac arrest. KV Anand had chest pain at midnight and he immediately reached a private hospital in Chennai but the medical treatments turned out to be a failure. KV died in the early morning at 3 AM leaving the Tamil film industry and fans in shock and despair.

 

The movie Kaapan is the last movie that was directed by director KV Anand in which the lead role was played by Surya and Mohanlal, Sayyeesha, Samuthirakani played supporting roles. KV Anand was on set to direct a movie with a leading actor but unfortunately, things went wrong. May the remarkable director and cinematographer’s soul rest in peace. His works will forever be Cherished and praised by Kollywood audiences.
