PRIYAMANI MAKES A COMEBACK AFTER A LONG GAP

Popular South actress Priyamani is engaged in a movie after a long gap. She was last seen playing a key role in Manoj Bajpayee starrer web series. Now she has been assigned in a new movie titled Quotation Gang. In this movie, she will be playing the character of a contract killer. For this movie she has been roped in with director Vivek who will soon be making his debut with the Arun Vijay starrer Boxer, will next be directing Priyamani in a multilingual gangster film.

Director Vivek has revealed that the movie will be a realistic female-centric film inspired by many life incidents and a book named as Mafia Queens of Mumbai which he read long back, following this he also has found many such incidents throughout the country. The idea of making such a film arose for him in his lockdown quarantine time. He started to create the script and finished it during the time of lockdown itself. The movie is bankrolled by Gayatri Suresh under the banner of Filminati Entertainment. At the present Boxer, the movie is getting delayed because of the pandemic, so the Quotation gang’s team has decided to collaborate and start the project.

The director also shared that the title of the movie was inspired by the infamous gang of killers and smugglers from Kerala, who would commit crimes for a meager amount. It is expected that Quotation Gang will mark Priyamani’s Tamil comeback. She was last seen in Tamil in the 2012 horror movie Chaarulatha. After making sure of Priyamani as the lead role in this movie, the director says that “Initially I was not even thinking of approaching an established actor as the script demands a non-filmy face. But, when I approached Priyamani and narrated the script last month over a zoom call, she was excited and gave the nod immediately.

She has a lovely line up of film and I’m glad that she chose Quotation Gang. She has made a mark for herself throughout the nation by starring in all South Indian languages as well as Hindi, so we couldn’t have asked for a better name”. As per the plan, the movie may go on floors next year. Starring Rain fame Vishno Warrier, Akshaya of Tharai Thappattai fame, Dhanya of Porkalathil Oru Poo fame, and other casting details are still under discussion in this flick.

Priyamani also has interesting projects in her pipeline including Narappa, Virata Parvam:1992, and Maidaan.
