Rajinikanth, the superstar of Tamil cinema has been honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Rajini left for New Delhi today to receive the most coveted Dada Saheb Phalke Award that is given to achievers in the Indian film industry. Reportedly, the award ceremony will happen tomorrow (October 25) in Delhi. Today he met the media outside his Poes Garden house in Chennai and spoke about winning the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. In a brief meeting, Thalaivar said that he never expected to win the coveted award. He also added that he feels sad that his guru KB (K Balachander) sir is not alive to see him receive the award.
He said, “I’m very happy that I won the Dadasaheb Phalke award. I never expected that I’d get the award. I’m sad that KB sir (K Balachandar) is not alive when I get this award.” The award was announced to him in April. He also thanked Narendra Modi for the award. In April, He wrote, “My heartfelt thanks to the government of India, respected & dearest @narendramodi Ji, @PrakashJavdekar ji and the jury for conferring upon me the prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeAward I sincerely dedicate it to all those who have been a part of my journey. Thanks to the almighty (sic).” Looking into his work front he is waiting for the release of Annaatthe. The much-anticipated movie in the industry.
